The PRM Group is an ‘Authorised Gateway Service Provider’, ‘Business User’ and ‘Identity Service Provider’ and therefore authorised to provide all DVS services available to both government and non-government users.
In addition to being authorised to provide all DVS services The PRM Group’s in-house software development team work with clients to provide both standalone and integrated solutions to streamline the process of obtaining DVS verifications.

The Document Verification Service
The Document Verification Service (DVS) is a national online system that allows organisations to compare a customer's identifying information with a government record.
The DVS is a secure system that operates 24/7 and matches key details contained on Australian-issued identifying credentials, providing a 'yes' or 'no' answer within seconds.
The DVS helps organisations build greater confidence in the identities of their clients. This helps protect governments, businesses and Australians from identity crime.
The Australian Federal Government, through AUSTRAC, has published Information on how The Document Verification Service can be used to help identify individual customers and beneficial owner identifications part of your AML/CTF and KYC program.
The DVS successfully processed 30 million transactions in 2016 — the most transactions done by the service to date.
How the DVS works
The Document Verification Service (DVS) confirms that the details on an evidence of identity document match records held by the government authority that issued it.
The DVS checks if the details are still valid and not expired or cancelled.
The DVS does not:
- Make a decision on a person’s identity.
- Provide access to an issuer's database.
- Verify the authenticity of physical documents.
- Verify identities of clients presenting those documents.
- Verify documents for individuals—only approved organisations can use the DVS.
Within seconds, the DVS can validate documents and credentials issued by Australian Government, state and territory government agencies.

The DVS is generally considered more reliable than screen-scraping or web-transacting, as screen-scraping may not check all of the details you think you are checking. As an unauthorised verification method, it is unlikely to be as accurate and current as a DVS check.
